Cryogenic single-port calibration for superconducting microwave resonator measurements

چکیده

Superconducting circuit testing and materials loss characterization requires robust reliable methods for the extraction of internal coupling quality factors microwave resonators. A common method, imposed by limitations on device design or experimental configuration, is single-port reflection geometry, i.e. reflection-mode. However, impedance mismatches in cryogenic systems must be accounted through calibration measurement chain while it at low temperatures. In this paper, we demonstrate a data-based, using commercial standards vector network analyzer with samples millikelvin temperature dilution refrigerator, making method useful measurements quantum phenomena. Finally, cross reference our over-coupled 2D- 3D-resonators against well established two-port techniques corroborating validity method.

In situ broadband cryogenic calibration for two-port superconducting microwave resonators.

We introduce an improved microwave calibration method for use in a cryogenic environment, based on a traditional three-standard calibration, the Thru-Reflect-Line (TRL) calibration. The modified calibration method takes advantage of additional information from multiple measurements of an ensemble of realizations of a superconducting resonator, as a new pseudo-Open standard, to correct errors in...

A new microwave resonator readout scheme for superconducting qubits

A new microwave resonator readout scheme for superconducting qubits Michael B. Metcalfe 2008 Quantum computation is a relatively new field of research, which uses the properties of quantum mechanical systems for information processing. While most proposals for constructing such a quantum computer involve using microscopic degrees of freedom such as those of trapped ions or nuclear spins, this t...

Two-port microwave calibration at millikelvin temperatures.

In this work we introduce a system for 2-port microwave calibration at millikelvin temperatures operating at the coldest stage of a dilution refrigerator by use of an adapted thru-reflect-line algorithm. We show that this can be an effective tool for characterizing common 50 Ω microwave components with better than 0.1 dB accuracy at temperatures that are relevant to many current experiments in ...

Hybrid atom-photon quantum gate in a superconducting microwave resonator

We propose a hybrid quantum gate between an atom and a microwave photon in a superconducting coplanar waveguide cavity by exploiting the strong resonant microwave coupling between adjacent Rydberg states. Using experimentally achievable parameters gate fidelities >0.99 are possible on submicrosecond time scales for waveguide temperatures below 40 mK. This provides a mechanism for generating ent...

Towards carbon nanotube growth into superconducting microwave resonator geometries

The in-place growth of suspended carbon nanotubes facilitates the observation of both unperturbed electronic transport spectra and high-Q vibrational modes. For complex structures integrating, e.g., superconducting rf elements on-chip, selection of a chemically and physically resistant material that survives the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process provides a challenge. We demonstrate the im...
